The TEA framework is a productivity model that focuses on managing three key resources: time, energy, and attention. It was coined by Thanh Pham, host of the The Productivity Show podcast.
Time: Time management is about prioritising tasks and making the most of the time available to you. This involves setting goals, breaking them down into smaller, actionable steps, and allocating time to each task. To manage your time effectively, it's important to be aware of your own work habits and patterns, and to use tools and techniques such as calendars, to-do lists, and time tracking to help you stay on track.
Energy: Energy management is about maximising your physical and mental resources to help you stay productive and focused. This means taking care of your physical health, including getting enough sleep, eating well, and exercising regularly. It also means managing your mental health, including taking breaks when you need them, avoiding multitasking, and finding ways to stay motivated and engaged in your work.
Attention: Attention management is about staying focused and minimising distractions. This can involve setting boundaries and limits on technology use, such as turning off notifications, and finding ways to eliminate distractions in your work environment. It also involves using strategies such as the Pomodoro Technique, which involves working in focused bursts with short breaks in between, to help you stay engaged and productive.
By effectively managing your time, energy, and attention, you can increase your productivity and achieve your goals more efficiently.
